Let's talk cheese. Benton Brother's has provided two delicious selections: Alpindon & 5 Yr Old Cheddar. This 5 year old cheddar from Village Cheese Co. is everything you’d expect in a beautifully aged cheese- sharpness, tang, nuttiness, and salt with a slightly sweet, dry finish. The crystals formed from their aging process hold little pockets of flavour and texture, and is what many of our fans love most about this aged cheddar. Kootenay Alpine's award winning “Nostrala” is an unpasteurized, cow’s milk cheese that is cave-aged for a minimum of 60 days giving it a nice firm texture, sweet nuttiness and a floral finish.
Next up, expertly hand-cured charcuterie from Oyama Sausage Co. The iconic Black Truffle Salami is an indulgent fan favourite, packed with black truffle. The rich balance of nutty earthiness from the truffle, along with garlic, spices, and melt-in-your-mouth texture will have you floating on cloud nine. Tasting is believing! Garlic, red wine and cognac are key ingredients in flavouring Oyama’s Saucisson Sec de Bordeaux. It's air-dried for a minimum of 4 weeks, giving it it's firm texture and round flavour.
For a sweet treat, we've included Fraser Valley Gourmet's Almond Butter Crunch. At first bite, you’ll be struck by it’s irresistible “soft-crunch” texture. The toffee’s is made in small batches locally with fresh butter, caramelized to the perfect degree before adding in toasted almonds and topping with chocolate. The result is an indulgent delicacy that shatters lightly on the palate before experiencing the deep caramelization, milk chocolate, and roasted almonds.
Luv the Grub's Pear Walnut Chutney is a cheese lover's dream. A lovely balance of sweet, sour, and slightly savoury, the chutney is made with pears, red onions, raisins, walnuts and is lightly spiced with some cayenne pepper.
