These nuts are covered with sweet coconut with real vanilla beans, and are well-balanced with a hint of lime juice, zest and a surprising note of black sesame. The flavour of these cashews will transport you to a perfect day on a Hawaiian beach. We love to snack on them by the handful, or try crushing them on top of a summer cheesecake!

The Nut Merchant was started by award winning Chef Kevin (Kev) Lee. Kev’s inspiration in the foodie world was his grandmother, who would invite family and friends over to her house in Korea to make kimchi. When it came to choosing his path in life, Kev decided to move to Canada to go to Dubrulle’s Culinary Institute to study pastry making. Chef Kev then went on to work at several top end Vancouver restaurants including The Blue Water Café and Pan Pacific.
Every year during the holidays, Kev and his chefs would have a potluck party. Chef Kev made his candied pecans, which were a huge hit among his colleagues, which got him thinking about going into the nut business. He started in the Granville Island Public Market on the weekends and graduated to becoming a full-time day vendor in 2013. In July 2015, his company name changed from Chef Kev to The Nut Merchant and became the go-to place for unique, delicious nuts that we know and love today. They now feature over 18 different products ranging from sweet, savoury to spicy, sometimes combining all three flavours in one bite! All of their products are vegan and gluten-free, and they bring in the highest quality nuts from all over the world, adding his signature flavourful twists to create the tastiest nuts
